Our Proficiency in Food / Drink Industry Skills Apprenticeship is ideally suited to those people  who wish to pursue or develop a career in the Food / Drink industry.  It combines practical training with real on the job work experience in one of many varied job roles. You'll spend time being trained by your employer and our qualified assessors on how to operate within food / drink industry, learning about production control, processing, quality, food safety & environmental safety standards.

Awarding Body: (Food Industry Qualifications)

Intermediate Level Apprenticeships: Level 2 qualifications

Qualifications you will gain: Certificates in Proficiency in Food Industry Skills and Functional Skills maths and English (if required) all delivered in the workplace.

Entry Requirements

Benefits of an Apprenticeship Developing your career with an apprenticeship is a great way to progress in your field whilst: earning a salary getting paid holidays receiving training gaining qualifications learning job-specific skills   Ideally you should have a minimum of grade E in both maths and English.   If you do not hold these minimum grades, you will be assessed on your ability to complete the programme and will undertake Functional Skills classes to improve your skills.

There are many varied job roles in which you could undertake your apprenticeship, these include: Food Operatives, Process Workers, Production Line Leaders, Stock Control, QA etc. 

Delivery

These qualifications are delivered entirely in the workplace and not in a college environment.

Where could this lead?

After gaining an Intermediate Apprenticeship in Food / Drink Industry Skills, you could progress to an Advanced Apprenticeship in Food / Drink Industry Skills, other manufacturing or technician roles.  With experience you could become a team leader or supervisor.

You will receive an Induction and Initial Assessment to determine your individual training needs.

Course Content

The Proficiency in Food Industry Skills Intermediate Level Apprenticeship Framework is made up of four components. To be successful, all four elements must be completed and achieved.
