You'll spend time being trained by your employer and our qualified assessors in making signs, such as road traffic signs, signs for businesses, exhibition displays, shop fronts or designs for vehicles. You could also learn about the installation process.

Entry Requirements

Ideally you should have a minimum of grade E in both maths and English.   If you do not hold these minimum grades, you will be assessed on your ability to complete the programme and will undertake Functional Skills classes to improve your skills.

These qualifications are delivered in the workplace with some off the job learning to develop your knowledge of the sign making / installation process.

After gaining an Intermediate Apprenticeship in Signmaking, you could progress to an Advanced Apprenticeship in Signmaking. With experience you could become a team leader or supervisor.

Course Content

The Signmaking Intermediate Level Apprenticeship Framework is made up of four components. To be successful, all four elements must be completed and achieved.
