Axia History

Axia Solutions is an independent training provider which was formed in 1999 specialising in delivering qualifications to the ceramic industry but has since extended business to service the training needs of a broad range of manufacturing, logistics, Print engineering and office based environments. Operations, Business Administration, Engineering, Print and Design, Sign Making, Warehousing and Storage, Customer Service, Team Leading, Food and Drink, Marketing, Management, Functional Skills English, Maths and ICT.

Axia were the first private training provider to achieve the TUC’s Unionlearn Award for our work with employers at times of redundancy.

Axia began its expansion of Apprenticeship provision. It has grown its provision from 28 new start apprentices in 2011/12 to 380 new start apprentices in 2016/17. Axia now deliver training to over 550 apprentices at any one time.

In May 2014 Newcastle-under-Lyme College acquired Axia and it became a wholly owned subsidiary of the college. Axia became Matrix accredited for offering learners highly effective Initial Advice and Guidance

In 2016 NSCG was formed as Newcastle-under-Lyme College, Axia and now Stafford College became part of the same group broadening the ability of each organisation to offer a full range of training and apprenticeships from level 2 to Higher Level Degree Apprenticeships in a broad range of vocational areas.

Axia delivered Maths and English qualifications to almost 300 employees working in local industry.

Data from the National Achievement Rate Tables showed that our success rates for 16/17 were the highest in the West Midlands with apprenticeships being 92.7% and Functional Skills being 98.9%.

March — the current Managing Director, Paula Rowland was appointed moving from over 20 years in Further Education as a teacher and later Assistant Principal of Curriculum at Hugh Baird College in Bootle, North Liverpool.

Axia undergo a brand update and launch a new website to accommodate our company vision and values.
