60% of the UK workforce currently lack the skills to use AI responsibly
Completed over 15 months, this apprenticeship blends workshops, workplace learning, coaching and projects. Learners build a portfolio showing real AI implementation in their organisation.
Delivery is flexible – online, workplace or face-to-face. Off job training includes around six hours a week, combining structured study with practical application at work.
Assessment is through a work-based project, and the development of a portfolio for discussion at End Point Assessment (EPA).
Successful learners achieve the Level 4 AI Apprenticeship Standard and may also gain a recognised professional membership (such as with BCS).
AI adoption could grow the UK economy by up to £400 billion by 2030 through enhanced productivity and innovation – but only if businesses invest in skills and capabilities alongside technology.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is no longer a futuristic idea - it is transforming how organisations compete, operate and grow. Organisations that build AI capability in their workforce are better placed to adapt to rapid change, unlock productivity and drive innovation.
BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, highlights that around 60% of the UK workforce currently lacks the skills to use AI responsibly – a significant gap given the pace of AI adoption in industry.
Upskilling employees is essential not just for implementation, but for ethical and effective use of AI technologies
AI isn’t just about doing things faster – it’s about new ways of working. From improved forecasting and personalised customer interactions to identifying market trends and risks ahead of competitors, AI skills can help organisations to innovate and streamline more effectively.
